Brian Woodland has over 26 years of investment management experience. He specialized in managing portfolios for individuals and small institutions during his career. He worked closely with trading desks, research analysts, and buy side portfolio managers at different companies. Brian joined Cowen & Company in 1996, as a Vice President in the Private Client Group. In 2000, Brian joined Salomon Smith Barney as a Senior Vice President of Investments in Boston, MA. There, he was certified as a Financial Planning Specialist for the firm in 2003. In 2006, Brian left Smith Barney with the desire to create a client focused, independent financial company that has evolved into Huntwicke Capital Group. Brian is also President of Huntwicke Securities LLC, a member FINRA / SIPC.
David E. Bunker
David E. Bunker is a Registered Investment Advisor who founded EFA in 1997. He holds a Master’s Degree in Finance from Bentley University in Waltham, Massachusetts and a Bachelor’s Degree from Syracuse University. Prior to founding Essex Financial Advisors, LLC, David was an Investment Advisor Representative with Sentinel Benefits & Financial Group in Wakefield, MA for three years.
Peter Mulholland has over 23 years experience in the financial services industry and 15 years as an Investment Advisor working with high net worth individual investors, corporate clients and not-for-profit institutions. His passion for the financial services business started Fidelity Investments in 1992 as a mutual fund sales representative. Peter joined Huntwicke Advisors in 2009.
Jim Baga has over 23 year of experience as an Investment Advisor working with individual investors and nonprofit organizations. He joined Huntwicke Advisors after a long career as the on-site representative for 15 years for clients who included Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham & Women’s Hospital, Newton Wellesley Hospital, Faulkner Hospital, Northeastern University, University of Vermont, Fletcher Allen Hospital and Bowdoin College.
Dennis Wassung has 20 years of experience in the investment management industry, specializing in portfolio management, investment analysis and research, and working with private clients. He joined Essex Private (formerly Huntwicke Advisors) in 2017 as a portfolio manager and investment advisor. Prior to joining Essex Private, Dennis spent eight years at Cabot Wealth Management, where he was a global portfolio manager and equity analyst, managing over $120 million in separate accounts for high net worth clients. Prior to Cabot, Dennis spent eight years as an institutional equity research analyst, covering technology companies at Canaccord Genuity (formerly Adams, Harkness & Hill). He graduated with honors from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering, and earned an MBA from the University of Southern California Marshall School of Business. Dennis holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, and is a member of the CFA Institute and CFA Society Boston.
Jim Edmonson has over 13 years of experience as an Investment Advisor working with individual investors of nonprofit organizations. He joined Huntwicke after 10 years at Fidelity Investments where he worked with clients to help them achieve their financial goals. He currently holds the CFP® and CRPC® designations.
Rob joined Essex Private (formerly Huntwicke Advisors) with over 30 years of experience in the financial services and institutional money management field, the bulk of those years with State Street Global Advisors (SSgA). During his tenure there, Rob held roles of increasing responsibility across global custody, operations, risk and portfolio management. He was Managing Director for Global Trading and Portfolio Implementation, responsible for a group with nearly $300 billion in client assets under management and staff located in multiple locations around the world. He capped off his SSgA career as the Global Head of Operational Risk and member of its Senior Management Group.
Rob has since held positions as a Senior Business Consultant for the Investment Division of Manulife Asset Management/John Hancock, as it embarked on its ambitious Global Optimization Program, in addition to his most recent role there as Senior Director for Enterprise Risk Management of the Global Wealth and Asset Management Division. He also was a Path of Excellence program recipient during his two years as a Wealth Advisor with Merrill Lynch.
Rob is a graduate of Boston University’s MBA program with a concentration in Finance, holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Government and Mathematics from Bowdoin College and is actively pursuing his CFP Certificate. In his free time, Rob enjoys coaching youth sports and is a Level 4 Certified USA Hockey coach. He lives with his wife Deb and two sons in Boxford, MA.
Fernando Garcia, Controller
Fernando Garcia has over 10 years of experience in the manufacturing industry and financial services. He joined Huntwicke Capital Group (parent company of Essex Private Wealth Management) after working at Sentinel Benefits and Financial Group for the Investment operations group. Prior to Sentinel he worked for two agro-industrial businesses located in Colombia and Panama. He graduated from Bentley University with a degree in Finance and completed his MBA at Hult International Business School.
